NPD Technologist

• Be the main interface between NPD and Technical to ensure all products are developed in accordance with the appropriate food safety and quality standards and in accordance with customer and third-party procedures and standards.
  
• Working closely with the Technical Accounts Manager and Technical Compliance Manager, this will include, but not be limited to, initial risk assessments of new suppliers, ingredients / packaging, HACCP changes and process changes.
  
• To organise and attend factory trials in conjunction with the Shift Managers and/or line leaders and to carry out pre and post-trial briefings.
  
• Communication with purchasing, operations and sales is key. To maintain all project documentation, from concept to launch
  
• Completion of submission forms when required for customers required throughout the development process. This includes populating, traffic light indicators, nutritional calculations, supplier information etc
  
• To amend / write up recipes for factory use and where appropriate to cost recipes and factory trials
  
• Liaising with the Compliance Technologist to organize laboratory testing, benchmarking and organoleptic panels To assess and write up CQS standards against all new products with the support of the Development and Technical Team
  
• To attend and lead customer quality sessions and development presentations when required To keep an up to date log of all development samples and regularly dispose of samples which are no longer require or are out of date To deputise for the Head of NPD where necessary.
  

Requirements

This is an on-site role, 5 days per week. There will be some opportunities to work from home.
