- Preparing drawings of space layouts and equipment placement to illustrate the scope of work involved in a project
- Preparing cost estimates for projects using hand calculations or computer software such as Excel spreadsheets or AutoCAD programs
- Working with architects and designers to ensure that building plans meet code specifications regarding safety and energy efficiency
