Position Summary

Creative Associates seeks a Program Officer based in Berlin, Germany for a community security project. The position, reports to the Grants/Program Manager, and supports the program team by providing support in the development and implementation of the activities which include administrative tasks such as communications with partners, field staff, tracking payment and collect and archive the necessary documentation

Tasks

Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Grants/Program manager, the Program officer will
support the program team. His/her responsibility will include

  • Assist the program coordinators in the design and development of activities in Eastern Syria, by collecting needed documents and information from the field
  • Assist the program coordinators in the design and development of negotiation memos and agreements.
  • Provide day to day follow up for activities under implementation, as needed, to ensure effective programmatic delivery that meets the objectives of each activity.
  • Coordinate with the program coordinator(s), the field team and partners inside Syria to track and collect project related documents.
  • Verify and archive the collected documentation.
  • Contribute to weekly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Maintain a good relationship with the field team and facilitate delivery of projects inside Eastern Syria.
  • Share highlights, success stories, lessons learned, and challenges provided by the implementing partner with M&E team for qualitative reporting.
  • Updates and maintains accurate activity files on the SharePoint
  • Other duties as assigned by the DCOP and Grants/Program Manager.

Requirements

Qualifications:

High School diploma required. BA/BS degree highly desired.

Must have 3+ years of general work experience and 2+ years of specific experience related to the position with experience in administrative work, preferably in stabilization and/or humanitarian field

Experience working with community-based organizations and/or community mobilization around social and humanitarian issues;

Proven ability to work on a team in a collaborative manner;

Proven ability to take initiative and think creatively about how to support a community in taking control of and addressing issues;

Arabic native speaker skills;

Strong English language skills required;

Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to manage high volume workflow;

Relevant computer software skills
