Tasks

We have an opportunity for a Hardware Lead Engineer who is passionate about becoming our new DCS and QCS specialist to join our Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) organization in Finland - in the specific in our Projects And Automation Solutions (PAS).

In this role, you will lead small to medium size project teams (5-10 engineers) in the Pulp & Paper industry, and implement standard engineering solutions with customized specials to successfully and within budgeted time and cost constraints.

You will be technically responsible for the overall hardware design and technical hardware of the systems and solutions in the scope of the projects.

Requirements

  • Act as technical interface with customers, establishing professional relationships to ensure that the technical project requirements are fully defined, agreed and delivered within schedule and cost constraints.
  • Act as technical interface to 3rd party suppliers to assure correct functionality of the 3rd party deliverables including the correct integration of those deliverables in Honeywell systems or solutions.
  • Ensure that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
  • Produce and approve hardware design specifications and provides technical leadership, support and expertise for the project team.
  • Ensure that the engineered solution meets project requirements, across all disciplines, in terms of functionality, Honeywell standard designs & design rules, quality, and supports documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by optimizing the use of global productivity tools and other Standard Builds deliverables.
  • Monitor and controls technical project scope against the Project Execution Plan and Functional & Detailed Design Specifications, ensures effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities.
  • Proactively recommend the potential quality and efficiency improvements and share technical knowledge back to Discipline Communities, the EEX organization and the project team. Report progress, technical problems, and/or changes to the project manager.
  • Act as the technical lead (hardware) during installation and commissioning on site.
  • Support sales organization in IO migration sales projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering
  • Fluency in English and Finnish
  • Willing to travel (20%)
  • A few years of project experience as Sr. Engineer/Project Engineer within Pulp & Paper industry
  • Extensive DCS and QCS experience
  • Customer interfacing experiences and good communication skills
  • TPAlcont/PMD system hardware knowledge
  • ControlEdge IO knowledge
  • General knowledge of hardware engineering

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor s Degree in engineering preferred
  • Appropriate Technical Qualification for the role
  • Six Sigma Certification
