We are an official spin-off from the DFKI and are growing, which is why we are looking for reinforcement in the area of system administration. Part-time is possible, but at least 15 hours per week. There is an opportunity to grow with us, both in the tasks and in the subject areas. We are also open to future employment. The following task and profile descriptions serve as a guide. It is possible to only cover partial areas - that is completely OK with us.
Tasks
Your role:
Responsible for the administration, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of Linux servers (Ubuntu)
- Install and upgrade security software for the operating systems
- Install and operate open-source software
- Record, analyze and work out technical solutions to problems and fix as well as document them
- Migration of systems and data from old systems to new systems or from one software solution to another software solution.
- Support our users and run a help desk for employees and customers and do troubleshooting.
Requirements

Knowledge in the following subject areas is desirable
- Very good knowledge of the server area (Linux)
- Good knowledge of networking (e.g. Firewall, Routing, Bridging, VPN)
- Web Servers (Apache, Nginx)
- Databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB/MySQL)
- Email (Postfix)
- Virtualization (KVM)
- Containers (Docker)
- Scripting languages (BASH, optionally Perl, Python, PHP, etc.)
