Job Description

Req ID : 1684652

You have great engineering skills, a passion for storytelling, and a talent for didactics, and haven't yet found the job that combines it all? Then working in the academy is just the thing for you. If our clients are hikers, you'll shape the mountain, define the path, and get them to the top.

Although this is a remote position, it requires you to come to the office for 2-3 days twice a month to record video material.

Tasks

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Our Academy team is part of Customer Success and aims at rapidly enabling our end users to master our software by creating customer-centric and inspirational learning material in the form of text, image/video and software examples. Their mission is to educate, convince and inspire our users.

You will join Akhil, Sophie, Noriyuki and Marvin as a team member and work in close collaboration with our Customer Success Engineering & software development team. A seamless exchange of information across teams is essential to gain insights into the customers' pains, motivations and needs and to be aware of the latest software features.

What a week at Synera could look like:

  • You recap the progress of your tasks for the quarterly objectives & discuss the progress, priorities and risks of the objectives with the team.
  • You implement the feedback you collected from your fellow academy engineers into an educational software workflow that teaches parametric CAD design.
  • You go into our studio and record an empowering video that teaches users to transfer the knowledge from the workflow you prepared to their own problems.
  • You have a meeting with a customer you look after, check in on their progress and answer any questions they have. The customer needs an example workflow to understand how they can solve a problem. As you have not enough time today you delegate the task to an engineering working student and explain the acceptance criteria to them.
  • You are part of a brain storming workshop to work out a didactical design for end user challenges with CS Engineers and Developers.
  • The working student hands over the example workflow to you and you check it and send it to the customer with some additional explanations.
  • You edit the video material you recorded earlier and upload the finished video and workflow to our portal and inform the entire SyneraTeam that new content is available and for which customer personas it is relevant.
  • You use your focus time to write help material on how to connect a new FEM solver to Synera for our users that is easy to understand. After that you review help material from other engineers and give them feedback.

Requirements

Even if you don't meet this criteria perfectly but believe you have lots to bring to the role, we encourage you to apply. We know it's tough, but please keep in mind that you don't have to match all the listed requirements exactly to be considered for this role.

  • Domain knowledge (Generative Design, Automotive, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering)
  • Experience in classical engineering software (CAD, CAE, FEM)
  • Customer-centric mindset paired with educational/didactical talent
  • Good sense for storytelling
  • Basic experience in scripting and eagerness to expand your skills in C# or Python
  • Hands-on mentality & analytical mindset
  • Experience in Generative Design Software (e.g. nTop, Rhino/Grasshopper, Hyperganic) is a plus.
  • If you already have experience in technical writing or first touchpoints with version control tools like Git, you'll impress us even more!

P.S. Synera is a place where everyone can grow. So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, please apply if this is a role that would make you excited to come into work every day and be prepared to share with us how your perspective will bring something unique and valuable to our customer success team.

Benefits

  • Being part of a team of engineering experts working collaboratively to gain new knowledge and skills whilst improving and learning together.
  • You will take on a high level of responsibility right from the start.
  • We don't believe in one-fits-all solutions and therefore let you decide when & where to work (as long as you have a residency in Germany).
  • Need time to recharge your batteries? No problem - talk to your team and take as much time off as you like. We don't count your vacation days as we trust in all our team members to decide what's best for them and the company.
  • Flexible public holidays, swap days off according to your values and beliefs.
  • In case you'll work remotely, we'll help you get set up at home and invite you to come and visit Bremen from time-to-time.
  • Spend time together with your colleagues during regular team events, virtual coffee breaks or spontaneous afterworks :-) For summer & christmas we usually get together with the whole company to spend 2-3 days somewhere nice!
  • Use your yearly budget of 2.000 or buy interesting books with our business account to develop yourself. You ll also have the chance to grow together with us!

Synera is a connected engineering platform that accelerates product development by a factor of ten, as proven by numerous customers in the automotive, aerospace and consumer goods industries such as Airbus, BMW, EDAG and Miele. We achieve this by integrating all relevant data, tools and expert knowledge into a low-code environment where engineers can store, share and reuse their work.
