General Description
The Senior Human Resource Associate is expected to assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. They will accomplish human resource objectives by obtaining, recording, forwarding and explaining human resource information. The Human Resource Associate duties and responsibilities can change regularly based on needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Compliance ensures alignment with federal and state regulations for employment, responsible for maintaining employee records, department records, reports, postings, handling unemployment claims, reporting workers compensation claims, EEO, ADA, and FMLA administration
- Maintains human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases and promotions
- Orients new employees by providing orientation information deck; reviewing company policies; gathering withholding and other payroll information; explaining benefit programs and obtaining completed documents for new hire compliance (1-9 forms and identification, etc.)
- Manage HRIS system by uploading employee related documents
- Benefits administrator provides assistance during open enrollment, updates benefit portals with changes (birth of a child, added coverage, deleted coverage, beneficiary forms printing off soft cards, etc.) and HSA updates as requested by employee and COBRA administration
- Facilitate or provide training to the staff (includes all aspects of orientation ARC and ADP)
- Provides administrative support by answering communications; referring special communications to appropriate person
- Maintains manager and employee confidence by keeping human resources information confidential
- Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
EDUCATION, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE
- College degree in Human Resources or related major, or equivalent experience in a comparable role, or a combination
- 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a mid-sized corporate environment
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with great follow through
