Machine Learning Researcher (m/f/d)

What we do

Merantix Momentum is a Berlin-based AI startup focusing on accelerating AI adoption across many industries through B2B solutions, as well as publicly funded research projects. We work across several domains, including automotive, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and many more, transforming businesses as an external machine learning department. We achieve this using our core expertise in state-of-the-art machine learning combined with our culture of rapid iterations to build scalable solutions.

Your role

Your role is to apply state-of-the-art machine learning methods to real-world industry-spanning challenges and push the limit of what is possible.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Develop and implement machine learning components establishing industry standards in collaboration with external research partners.
• Review state-of-the-art machine learning research and ideate on new methods to tackle complex industry-spanning problems.
• Take technical ownership of one or more research projects under guidance of more senior researchers.

Your profile

The ideal candidate is proficient in robust machine learning engineering and the latest deep-learning technologies. In addition, the ideal candidate should also be highly experienced in at least one of the following technologies: CV, NLP, 3D-Vision data.

You are a great fit for our team if you bring these qualifications:

• MSc or 2+ years of working experience in machine learning or related technical field
• Strong programming skills in Python with a variety of deep-learning tasks and experience with libraries like PyTorch
• Proven experience in independently completing technical projects.
• Experience with sound engineering practices like version control, clean code, code review, testing
• Fluency in English

Nice to have:

• At least one publication in established high-impact journal/conference in the respective field of study
• PhD in STEM-related fields
• 1 to 3 years of experience with one or more of the following cloud providers: Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure
• Basic German
