Lead UI Crafts(wo)man

Hi,

I'm Hans-Kristian a second-time founder looking for a frontend developer that loves building great User Interfaces for my new startup.

I am a technical founder myself working on the prototype but looking for a frontend developer who can make great UIs faster than me.

Tasks

We work asynchronously via GitHub.

When you work is completely up to you. The only thing that matters is that at the end of the month you have built features that are worth more to me than your salary ;-)

For any feature, I will conceptualise it and build and document the APIs before you get the task to build the UI.

Here is the typical workflow of a feature:

• You will get a new issue assigned in GitHub Issues.
• A feature is well defined and written out with examples, sketches and API documentation. Some parts may be specified if they are important to the user experience and others might be vague for you to come up with your best ideas. I try to write new features so you don't need any follow-up questions.
• When you start on a new feature you make a branch related to the issue and work on that.
• Any questions of ongoing communication will be via GitHub issues. If something is hard to write den we demo it via loom etc.
• When you are done just make a pull request and ill merge it into main or request some changes.

I will always ensure to be a bit ahead so you have a handful of features to work on and don't have to wait for me if you are on a roll.

Requirements

I love working with great people so this is what I expect from you:

• You love building great user interfaces and experiences.
• You write code that is easy to use for other developers.
• You build well structures UIs and think in terms of UI-Kits, components and reusability.
• You are good at leading yourself and working independently.
• You are good at written communication.

Other than that the most important thing is that you build UIs that are a joy to use.

Regarding salary then I never work with fixed budgets. Your salary is deeply personal to you and the life you want to live.

You set your own salary and can change it ongoingly.

This way you can decide your own life.

If you want a lot of freedom then you can lower your salary and if you want more money then you can raise your salary with my expectations growing accordingly.
