Site Reliability Engineer (M/F/D)

Your responsibilities

• You own and maintain our critical cloud infrastructure as code.
• You anticipate potential problems or bottlenecks upfront by seeing the bigger picture and bring in your own ideas to make our service platform more resilient and reliable.
• You understand the value of a service ownership culture.
• You support or mentor developers with running services reliably in production by assisting them with deployments and interaction to different cloud services.
• You take care of our internal monitoring for applications and infrastructure and guides developers on setting up their own dashboards and alerts.
• You own tooling to assist and speed up developers across gridX, e.g. CI/CD, docker base images
• You document all the things and maintain runbooks.

Your profile

• You have a strong awareness and experience of working with Site Reliability Engineering principles.
• You know how to achieve high-availability, scalability and fault-tolerance for distributed software in production
• You are experienced with Kubernetes and know how to reliably run clusters at scale
• You are experienced with IaC tools (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation, CDKs; we primarily use Terraform).
• You have a (deep) understanding of public cloud offerings such as AWS services like EC2, EKS, Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB, SNS, IAM, RDS...
• You have proactive security in mind and follow industry best practices and official benchmarks
• You know what scratch or distroless containers are about and why you should use them in production.
• You have experience in at least one modern backend language (e.g. Go, Python, Java; we primarily use Go).
• You know how to increase visibility using modern monitoring solutions around Prometheus and Grafana, tweaking dashboards, defining alerts.
