StartSteps is a digital skills academy orientating career changers, upskillers and those recently unemployed - to the skills and jobs of the future.
Working with the Federal Employment Agency in Germany, StartSteps takes students through an orientation to digital skills (coding, UX/UI, IT data & digital marketing) before placing confident graduates into established job training academies and bootcamps (e.g. Le Wagon, Ironhack, Spiced Academy...). Setting each student up with a laptop and full financing so that all training is fully-funded by the government.
StartSteps is an advocate and cheerleader for digital skills education in Europe, and drives it s efforts by collaborating with 30+ career bootcamps in Germany & hiring partners to help people grow ready for new jobs, or within their current companies.
** We are looking for a passionate, hungry and motivated HR Generalist who is able to help us grow and scale - as we enter these exiciting new stages of hyper-growth as a young and fast growing startup .**
This full-time position is based at our Berlin office, but allows for working full-time from home or remotely - after completion of early onboarding & necessary training.
The role requires advanced language skills in both English and German.
Tasks
- Support & continue building all onboarding processes
- Set up various personnel development topics
e.g. leadership development - Administration of benefits, and employees requests
- Introduction and optimization of new personnel processes
- Set up of new administrative processes & tasks
- Feel good management & organisation of team events
- Identify, engage with and onboard great new talents
Requirements
- You are a people person
- You are fluent in both German & English
- You have previous experience in HR and recruitment
- You constantly strive for improvement, e.g. by challenging and optimizing our processes, increasing efficiency
- You love talking to people and have a high level of empathy
- You are characterized by a strong sense of responsibility and a high level of initiative
- You approach things proactively and in a solution-oriented manner
- You will find a good balance between independent work and teamwork
- Interest in all HR and organizational issues as well as enjoyment in dealing with people
- Knowledge of German legal HR regulations, including HR compliance, health and safety basic requirements, policy creation, and ops management (leaves, attendance, vacations, etc.)
- Experience maintaining HRM systems and using productivity tools (Slack, Google Suite, etc...)
