JOB SUMMARY.

Security Technician, Parnassus, 8hrs M-F (after hours overtime & on-call status required).

This person will have the ability and experience to support and repair security systems, such as alarms, cameras, access controls, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with campus departments at all
• levels, contractors and design consultants; ability to effectively interact with a diverse
• professional staff both independently and as a team member in a busy environment
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations and reports
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and security system schematics
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated theoretical and working knowledge of electricity electronics, and electronic
• and computerized electronic security system design and operation
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot security system malfunction or failure
• Demonstrated knowledge of Central Station software of Bosch/Radionics receivers
• Demonstrated ability to give clear written and oral instructions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
• Working knowledge of applicable building and safety codes
• Able to analyze problems, determine solutions, and make decisions based on analysis

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Two (2) years of experience at the operational level in an appropriate craft
• Two (2) years lock and security systems technician apprenticeship or equivalent education and experience
• University and/or Medical Center experience
