Business Intelligence Architect III
Remote - 40 hours per week 1 position requested
Working title: Cognos Report Developer
The project is to design, develop and deploy new business intelligence solutions. The areas of focus will be the development of a portfolio of dashboards and reports to advance the college's commitment to equity and inclusion.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop new enterprise reports and dashboards using Cognos 11.2 to give college leaders and their teams consistent and reliable insights
Define and follow Cognos development best practices
Apply data visualization best practices
Tell stories through data visuals to inform the who, what, when, where, and how to be able to understand the key factors driving positive outcomes
Develop and maintain solution documentation
Determine effective formats for the customer and contribute to conceptualizing, development, and design of infographics, reports, and dashboards based on customer requirements
Work closely with team members including Institutional Research, Integrations, Data Management to bring designs to fruition
Coordinate with Software Testers and Release Management to integrate the final work product into the production environment
Experience Required:
7 to 10 years of BI/DW and data architecture experience
5 or more years of report and dashboard development experience, at least 2 years of that experience using Cognos Analytics
Familiarity with development methodologies
Experience with Cognos 11 DQM
Strong PL/SQL development experience with the ability to write complex and nested SQL queries
Expert in building Reports, Dashboards, Scorecards and Active Reports using IBM Cognos 11.2
Competencies:
Experience working in a software development environment
Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
Other:
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge in higher education systems and processes is a strong plus
IBM Certifications in Cognos Analytics is a plus
The anticipated duration of this engagement is through June 30, 2023, with a high possibility of an extension. The consultant should be prepared to start by January 3rd, 2023.
