Client Details:

Role Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring the day-to-day financial operations within the group.
  • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensuring the company s financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
  • Overseeing and leading debtors and creditors function.
  • Ensuring that the requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest SARS and IFRS changes.
  • Maintaining financial records and preparing general ledger accounts.
  • Recording lease smoothing entries.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and calculating depreciation journal entries.
  • Preparing project WIP calculations.
  • Calculating commission payable on a monthly basis.
  • Driving the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Prepare the following monthly:
    • Consolidation workings (intercompany eliminations, etc.).
    • Management accounts for the business.
    • Cash Flow forecasts.
    • Monthly packs for sales meetings.
  • Liaising with external auditors, coordinating the audit process and overseeing the preparation of audit files for year end audits.
  • Understanding, monitoring and reporting key business and financial drivers.
  • Ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
  • Actioning intercompany transfers and forex conversions.
  • Assisting the CEO and Divisional Managers with the preparation of the budget.
  • Reporting to management on variances from budget and reasons for variances.
  • Participating in financial risk analysis, payment method structuring and overdue account escalations to ensure improvement of the account receivable portfolio.
  • Analysing operational drivers and driving process improvement.
  • Ensure that insurance policies are up to date
  • Submit and manage insurance claims as and when they arise
  • Assisting with driving the BEE strategy and ensuring BEE compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BCom Accounting Degree.
  • Qualified CA or CIMA.
Relevant Skills / Experience:
  • 3 - 5 years experience within a similar role.
  • Experience in Cost Accounting (experience in working in the construction industry would be beneficial).
  • Leadership skills and experience.
  • Strong experience with Projects and Operational Accounting.
