You will be required to head the Corporate Legal function of the group with 10 plus nos of registered companies.
Handling all litigation end to end, initiating legal action for debt recovery, coordination with company lawyer are key deliverables of this role. To handle/ co-ordinate all legal issues end to end with full ownership and accountability. Act proactively to protect any matter of company s interest.
This position is accountable for:
- End to end handing of legal issues pertaining to any of the company.
- Co-ordinate all on-going Legal cases and maintain status report and do follow up on regular basis with the concerned Lawyers.
- Keep track of court hearing dates and get update after every hearing and to appraise management
- Advise Management/ give legal opinion on any issues when sought.
- Co-ordinate board meetings, draw minutes and maintain records.
Requirements
- LLB/ LLM. CS qualified professionals will be preferred
- Should have over 20 years of experience of which, 3 to 4 years should be in a leadership/Independent head of any Corporate Organisation
- Should have in-depth knowledge of handing land disputes, trade disputes, debt recoveries in corporate FMCG businesses and Real Estate companies. Should be able to co-ordinate board meetings & draw minutes etc.
- Must have exposure to West African working environment.
- Exposure to Nigeria will be an added advantage
