Live-In Housekeeper

Archway Superior Households brings you a fantastic opportunity to work with a lovely, motivated couple who are seeking a full-time, live-in Housekeeper for a permanent, long-term position.

At present, the couple live between two properties as they await the completion of their new home in Hambleton, Rutland. They shift between a Stately Home in Farnsfield, Newark and another home in Oakham, Rutland. Therefore they require someone who is willing to work between the two properties - one day in Oakham and 3 days in Newark, totalling 36 hours per week. Ideal hours are 9am 6pm four days per week, although if you prefer you can space the hours over 5 days as this is negotiable.

Requirements:

• Experience working in Period properties - must know how to care for antique furniture & fabrics, as well as brass, etc.
  
• Ability to care for a larger home - appreciation of what it takes to run large estates
  
• Taking initiative and not waiting for instruction - bringing your own skills & expertise to the role is very important as there is minimal training so one must be experienced and confident in ones ability
  
• Professional; efficient; proactive; respectful; knowledgeable
  

Duties:

• Cleaning of the homes to a very high standard
  
• Laundry & Ironing
  
• Driving (to run errands if needed & to get yourself from A to B)
  
• Gardening (simply watering & occasional pruning/cutting)
  
• Running errands as needed
  
• Working alongside the family PA on occasion
  
• Liaising with trades people as needed
  
• Stocktaking & replenishing
  
• Occasional dog walking & feeding as needed
  
• Bonus: childcare experience (couple plan on starting a family in the future)
  

Ideally for the couple, the right candidate will be someone who becomes an integral and well-respected part of the family, with the view of them staying on for a minimum of 3-4 years.

Salary, Schedule & Benefits:

• 30,000- 34,000 gross per year (DOE)
  
• 36 hours - 4 days between Mon-Fri (TBC which 4 days in the week) with potential for more hours available
  
• Occasional weekend work/overnight stays, i.e. if couple is away (extra pay or days off during the week)
  
• Live-in: 2 bed private detached accommodation on-site in Farnsfield
