About the role

This person will be responsible to understand the organization's capabilities and gaps, have awareness in the market of the vendors to partner with, and be able to build capability within the organization allowing it to align with the business and technology strategies. They will provide leadership and direction to IT staff responsible for all IT Operations functions, including IT support, information and data security, and business continuity. They may also be responsible for strategic vision, system design, incident response, budgetary control and adherence to necessary protocols, regulations, and legal requirements.

Job Responsibilities


IT Operations


  • Manage IT team responsible for the company's assets, including administration, configuration, security, job management, backup/restore operations and other IT functions
  • Overseeing the overall operations of an organization regarding IT support, information and data security, DevOps, and business continuity
  • Develop goals, strategies, and timelines to ensure the IT department runs smoothly and effectively while aligning with the organization's business goals
  • Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Build quality assurance and data protection processes that prevent security breaches
  • Monitor KPIs and metrics to assess technological performance
  • Provide assistance with audits and compliance initiatives
  • Work with and respond to feedback from business and IT stakeholders and use it to make improvements or adjustments needed to our technology
  • Ensure the organization's technology standards and assets remain up-to-date/relevant and adopt new technologies as required
  • Maintain IT Vendor Relationship Management, including infrastructure, hosted applications, and software vendors
  • Communicate technology strategy and raise awareness of risk management concerns to the organization

Security Operations

  • Assist in the development and execution of information security strategy and action plans
  • Provide guidance and recommendations regarding prioritization of investments and projects that mitigate risks, strengthen defenses and reduce vulnerabilities
  • Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend and plan implementation of new or improved information security controls, tools, processes, software or devices
  • Coordinate security assessments of internal and external facing information services; guide their compliance with company policy and customer requirements
  • Oversee information security risk assessments of vendors, contracted services and other 3rd party services providers
  • Lead investigations of and response to information security incidents
  • Monitor compliance with security controls and communicate unresolved security exposures, misuse, or noncompliance situations to management
  • Understand potential and emerging information security threats, vulnerabilities, and control techniques and assist IT and business staff in understanding and responding
  • Develop and maintain Information Security Management System (ISMS)
  • Assist in the response to security questionnaires, RFP responses, audits and contract reviews


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant field; MBA would be an advantage
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in information technology and data management with increasing responsibility
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent team management, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise architecture in the area of AWS, identity and access management (IAM), collaboration platforms and security technology
  • Track record of success in IT support management roles in high performance, entrepreneurial organizations
  • In-depth knowledge of data administration and management processes
  • Familiar with concepts of IT Service Management best practices
  • Change management knowledge and ability to operate effectively in fast paced environment
  • Experience in the areas of Information & Document Lifecycle processes, Infrastructure & IT Security, systems integration and technical writing
  • High-level understanding of corporate governance, risk and compliance
  • Experience in security initiatives that impact applications, infrastructure and external threats
  • Process-oriented with project management skills
  • Experience designing and building Disaster Recovery/High Availability solutions for business continuity
