New Product Introduction - Build Engineer

Job Description:

• Preferred candidate will be responsible for executing the Manufacturing Design Specification for New Product Introductions.

• This includes but is not limited to standardizing SMT processes and equipment, Line balancing and final assembly layouts, implementing fixtures and manufacturing process equipment, coordination of installation in facilities ensuring all EHS requirements are meet and facilitating final acceptance of all assembly processes.

• This role will also coordinate all prototype and pilot builds and lead the cross functional evaluation of these activities.

• They will be responsible for completing the final routing in accordance with that facilities requirements along with the documented work instructions.

• The goal of this role is to enable the early build of prototypes and risk mitigate issues for a smooth integration with production system.

• All work will be complete in accordance to manufacturing standards established by Process Engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement of Final Assembly lines for both PCBA and Final Assembly to support the early build of Prototype builds for development enabling operations more time to develop their employees and development more time to realize Df(x) improvement to design

• Coordination of all proto and pilot build and lead the evaluation activities.

• Final execution of all Manufacturing Execution System Deliverables including but not limited to PFMEA, GPM, SAP, FTPC validation, Work instruction (Digital and Print), pre and post SMT Operations desired, Operator & Maintenance training.

• Compliance and feedback to manufacturing standards established by Process Engineering organization

Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or education.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with SMT and Final Assembly.

• Demonstrated understanding of New Product Introduction process

• Experience coordinating and building discrete assembly lines and/or PCBA assembly process

• Good understanding of Manufacturing Process and experience engineering troubleshooter

• Good understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems

• Self-directed and able to adjust to changes in priority and scope

• Good written and verbal communications in English

• Proficient using Microsoft Office program

Temperament

• Ability to lead and manage multiple projects across different product lines and teams.

• Manage and communicate project timelines and action plans effectively to delivery cost effective test solutions on schedule and budget.

• Lead, coach, and mentor others in within NPI Build team across multiple manufacturing process areas to build cross-functional expertise within the team and partners

• Information Processing Capability (Factors of Complexity)

• Works with some direct supervision

• Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current trends in the business and operations
  Simultaneously support multiple business units and manufacturing plants

Accepts Role Requirements

• Work with multi-location and multi-time zone team, often remotely

Key Performance Metrics

• Early build of Production system to enable Development builds during design phase on the Production Line

• Create Documented Work Instructions (DWI).

• Coordinate prototype and pilot build and evaluation activities.

• Ensure compliance to all production environmental, health, and safety requirements.

• Facilitate final acceptance of all new assembly processes
