Job Description:
Scope:
-
Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet and regular email bulletin
-
Draft internal PowerPoint presentations, manage edits and where necessary, collaborate with graphic design to elevate the presentation of the content
Host and run Microsoft Teams calls -
Manage the internal communications calendar and schedule contributors and the content
-
Draft messages or scripts for the Leadership Team when required
-
Storyboard or translate ideas to the creative team of art directors and designers
-
Use channels such as Microsoft Teams to communicate with staff internally
-
Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to create an internal awards program for the Marketing team and source awards and holiday gifts with creativity, cultural relevance and international distribution in mind

Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization

Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages
-
Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly
Key skills
-
Writing skills: You need compelling writing and editing skills and excellent proofreading skills. as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees.

Digital skills: Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication, is essential. The ideal candidate will seamlessly host a Teams call that includes video clips, polls and multiple speakers.

Interpersonal skills: You need good interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work with colleagues within the Marketing team, as well as colleagues in other departments. You also need to possess the confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques to them.

Speaking skills: You also need strong speaking skills as you are likely to be called on to give presentations to staff. Internal communications managers need sensitivity to an organization's goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees.

Creative skills: You need the creative ability to devise communication strategies and work with graphic designers and videographers to implement them.
