Job Description:

• The Test Engineer will provide testing support to engineering projects related to water and waste systems and components. Using sound engineering principles, this engineer will work to ensure that accurate and representative test stands and system test rigs are constructed and maintained.

Job Summary:

• Creates basic designs of aircraft interiors, structures and mechanical systems for Fit, Form and Function to meet customer criteria, quality standards, FAA requirements, budget and project schedules using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools.

Duties:

• Creates entire documentation packages including drawings, bill of materials, material definition, trim and finish requirements, dimensions, and applicable tolerances.

• Adheres to assigned budgets and schedules. Makes revisions to size, shape and arrangement of parts to create practical design.

• Maintains regular communication with lead engineers, senior design engineers and engineering managers on assigned duties.

Experience:

• 3-6 years

• Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills

• Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers

• Solves a range of straightforward problems

• Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures

• Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction

Education:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S) in engineering required or 4 years of relevant engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Aviation background and aircraft interior experience preferred.

Other Skills:

• Computer Aided Drafting/Design skills (AutoCAD/Inventor preferred); Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards;

• Experience in manufacturing techniques;

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;

• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports the system or project engineer in the fabrication of equipment for the purpose of engineering evaluation and testing of products or systems.

• Utilizes sound technical problem solving to support ongoing projects with support from higher level engineers

• Able to accurately capture test data and document via test reports for submittal to external customers

• Able to work independently to support engineering efforts.

• Able to demonstrate the test stands/rigs to customers

• Takes responsibility (technical and project management) small/medium projects with support from management and/or higher level engineers.

• Has the mechanical, electrical, and control/software knowledge to lead the construction of system test rigs

• Provides input for system improvements based on testing observations.

• Utilizes sound technical problem solving to own or support ongoing and new projects
