Full Stack Engineer - Data Application (f/m/d)

Your future team

You will be part of the Data Application team in the Business Intelligence department, composed of cross functional Developers and a Product Manager. Together with your teammates, you will focus on creating and renovating best-in-class tools to help the marketing team run efficient campaigns and increase ROI.

You will be responsible for enabling new features and delivering a great user experience to our internal customers in the Bookiply and Holidu business domains. Your team s efforts will have a considerable impact on the business bottomline.

Our Tech Stack

• Backend applications written in Java and Kotlin (with Spring Boot).
• Deployed as microservices on AWS hosted Kubernetes cluster (EKS).
• Usage of a diverse set of technologies depending on the use case such as Redshift, MongoDB, Kafka, ElasticSearch and various other AWS services.
• Monitoring with Grafana, Prometheus, ELK and CloudWatch.
• Redshift, Athena, Airflow & Lambda for data analytics.
• Develop CLI applications using Spring Shell to provide shortcuts for repetitive tasks.
• Internal web applications written with ReactJs.

Your role in this journey

• You will be part of the team which is fully responsible for maintaining applications that handle the topics such as running multi-million euro marketing campaigns, automating bids and monitoring the performance and profitability of such campaigns.
• Together with your team members you will design, implement, evolve, and maintain our backend services.
• Ensure a high level of test coverage and high confidence when deploying changes.
• Ensure scalable data persistence, either when storing the data in MongoDB, PostgreSQL, caching data in Redis, or by exploring and proposing new state of the art technologies when appropriate.
• Deploy our applications with Jenkins on our Kubernetes cluster running in AWS.
• Create Airflow jobs to aggregate and compute datasets using SQL on Redshift & Athena.
• Deploy and automate ETLs using Open Source technologies like Airbyte.
• Promote our core value of focusing on customers by monitoring our systems with Grafana, Prometheus, ELK 7 stack and proactively resolving the issues.
• Apply best practices and continuously learn and share your thoughts with your peers.

Your backpack is filled with

• A degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
• Professional development experience in Java, after or during your studies.
• Experience with developing web services with Spring Boot, using relational/non-relational databases and deploying applications in a cloud environment.
• The ability to analyze and solve issues on your own.
• Desire to understand business cases around marketing and further our technical solutions based on them.
• Love for coding and building world-class products! We do and we hope you share our ambition!
• High motivation to learn and experiment with modern technologies. Having a personal pet project is a big plus.
