Job Title: ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Client is looking for a highly motivated individual to take significant responsibility in its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) program.

  • This will involve working with colleagues globally on a wide variety of ESG topics.

  • The individual should enjoy working collaboratively with other functional areas and also be comfortable with a significant degree of autonomy.

Responsibilities

Working with the Sustainability Team and Corporate Responsibility, the main responsibilities are:

  • Support sustainability reporting, data collection, stakeholder communication, and development of the sustainability strategy and implementation

  • Support sites in their respective Corporate Responsibility and ESG programs, providing corporate policy guidance, supporting internal reporting of site activities and broader external reporting and providing additional guidance to drive such initiatives and/or reporting.

  • Drive employee awareness and engagement in ESG program worldwide:

  • Support development of ESG communications strategy; create and manage ESG communications calendar.

  • Identify topics, draft content and work with Internal and External Communications to publish ESG articles/content internally and externally, in alignment with communications strategy.

  • Create and distribute ESG related presentations and materials for use in townhalls, workshops, site and other leadership presentations.

  • Support responding to customer or other stakeholders regarding ESG topics.

  • Manage requests for philanthropic sponsorship and requests, in alignment with internal policy.

  • Train employees on relevant topics, procedures/processes and policies, being able to adapt the training to the audience.

Skills Required

  • Environment Social Governance systems related background, good understanding of environmental data and requirements in a multinational pharma and life science company

  • Organizational and proven project management skills to manage multiple projects and ability to work independently in a fast paced environment

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams

  • Strong people-relations skills and ability to partner with others to develop practical solutions that meet business needs while remaining compliant with internal policies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, German is a plus.

  • Experience in drafting engaging articles to drive reader interest and excitement

  • Experience with trainings in both online and "live" conditions

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills and experience

  • Bachelor degree is required; minimum 2 years in an ESG or Sustainability role or related Communications
