Job Summary

  1. Develop implement and continuously monitor HR policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with applicable local national and international labor laws. Regularly review and update policies to align with evolving legal requirements and industry best practices.
  2. Drive employee engagement initiatives that effectively integrate global standards with Japanese workplace culture.
  3. Manage employee relations by proactively addressing concerns resolving conflicts and implementing retention strategies to enhance workforce stability and satisfaction.
  4. Ensure strict adherence to Japanese labor regulations including the Labor Standards Act and Work Style Reform laws.
  5. Handle Japan-specific tax-related employee matters in compliance with local regulations. 
  6. Collaborate closely with legal and compliance teams on employment contracts working hours and termination processes to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  7. Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring regulatory readiness.
  8. Conduct regular compensation benchmarking to ensure salary structures remain competitive and aligned with market standards.
  9. Facilitate performance management processes in alignment with global frameworks and organizational objectives.
  10. Provide expert guidance on labor disputes advising both employees and management to achieve fair and compliant resolutions.
  11. Maintain and optimize HR systems to effectively track analyze and report on HR metrics and performance indicators.
  12. Support employee onboarding processes including local registration requirements such as My Number and city registration.
  13. Partner with cross-functional teams including business units immigration payroll and legal to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  14. Oversee asset management and provide administrative support to both local employees and expatriates.
  15. Leverage Microsoft Office tools effectively to manage reporting communication and data analysis.
  16. Collaborate with business and unit leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into actionable HR initiatives.
  17. Prepare comprehensive reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing HR data and trends to support decision-making.
  18. Demonstrate strong knowledge of Japanese labor laws HR practices and compliance requirements.
  19. Apply data-driven decision-making approaches utilizing HR analytics to inform strategy and improve outcomes.
  20. Provide additional HR and administrative support as required including organizing events and coordinating office visits from a local HR perspective
