Job Summary
Were currently supporting a Cork-based contractor in the appointment of a Safety Officer (Generalist).
This role reflects what were seeing more of across industry.
Organisations dont just need safety professionals for one environment.
They need people who can operate across construction and non-construction activities and understand how risk presents differently in each.
This is a hands-on site-focused role working closely with operational teams to ensure safety is not just documented but applied in practice.
Key responsibilities:
Supporting day-to-day health and safety across a mix of activities and sites
Conducting inspections audits and risk assessments
Ensuring alignment with Irish health and safety legislation and site requirements
Working directly with teams to embed safe systems of work
Supporting incident investigations and ongoing improvement initiatives
What were looking for:
Experience in a Safety Officer or similar HSE role
Strong exposure to construction with the ability to operate across broader environments
Confidence engaging with teams on site and influencing behaviour
A practical grounded approach to safety
Relevant health and safety qualifications
This is a well-rounded generalist role with real visibility across operations.
