Job Summary
Job Description Mainframe Developer (COBOL)
Role Overview
We are looking for skilled Mainframe Developers with strong experience in COBOL-based technologies to join the team. The candidate will work closely with the client team and contribute to development enhancement and maintenance of large-scale applications.
Technical Skills Required
Strong hands-on experience in:
COBOL
JCL
VSAM
IMS DB/DC
DB2 (not mandatory)
Experience with modifying and enhancing large COBOL programs
Proficiency in unit testing and validation of developed components
Exposure to ADDI and IDs will be considered an added advantage
Familiarity with Agentic AI IDE tools (preferred: Windsurf)
All candidates must have hands-on experience working with and modifying large COBOL applications. Production support only experience is not suited for the position.
Band 7B candidates are expected to be fully hands-on and technically strong.
Work Schedule & Collaboration
Shift timings (on rotation basis):
12:00 PM 9:00 PM
2:00 PM 11:00 PM
Candidates must have good communication skills as the role involves direct interaction with client teams
Performance & Professional Expectation
Candidates must not have been low performers in the 2025 performance cycle
Should be able to:
Work consistently for the assigned 9-hour shift
Maintain productivity with minimal interruption
Limited exceptions (1 2 days per month) may be allowed based on valid reason
Work Model
Hybrid work model is mandatory
Exceptions allowed only if formally approved as per HR policies
Locations: Bangalore Chennai Hyderabad and Pune
