Job Summary

Specific Duties ï Meet with the Principal to discuss the implementation of school policies and programs. ï Assist the Principal in supervising and evaluating all tenure and non-tenure staff. ï Assist the Principal in assigning teachers to special duties i.e. cafeteria duty hall duty etc. ï Assist the Principal in organizing the promotion ceremony.ï Assume responsibility of attendance and discipline. ï Assist in the supervision of pupil activities (dances proms plays) which may occur in the evening or weekends. ï Prepare students for various events n competitions. ï Arrange and conduct Assessment tests. ï Complete reports for Assessment tests. ï Assume responsibility for the documentation needed for mandated programs. ï Arrange for class coverage in case of teacher absence. ï Assume the responsibility of student scheduling at the direction of the Principal. ï Assist the Principal in interpreting school programs to the community. ï Work with special service personnel and non-school agencies on pupil personnel problems. ï Meet with teachers pupils parents/guardians as needed. ï Assist the Principal in conducting orientation for incoming students. ï Assume responsibility for coordinating student/teacher and student/observer assignments. ï Assist the Principal in identifying areas related to the functioning of the school which can be computerized. ï Attend monthly Board of Education meeting when requested. ï Assist the Principal in reviewing new textbooks. ï Arrange personal time schedule to meet the requirements of the position of Vice Principal. ï Assist the Administrative Assistant in supervising the staff on cafeteria duty. Maintain an effective positive working relationship with staff. ï Assist the Principal in arranging in-service workshops. ï Prepare and submit all reports as requested by Principal in proper writing and/or oral style and structure. ï Portray an effective role model for staff students parents/guardians community members. ï Be knowledgeable of new educational trends. ï Assist the Principal in writing Professional Growth Plans. ï Complete additional assignments as directed by the Principal. ï Demonstrate global planning skills. ï Be visible in the halls and other parts of the building. ï Prepare and complete paperwork after school hours. ï Confer with Principal and Administrative Assistant on decisions concerning attendance and discipline problems. ï Performs other duties which may be assigned by his/her superior(s) under authority of the Board of Education.

Qualifications Must have a Masters Degree and Principal certification to be in compliance

Must have completed atleast 10 years of successful teaching in grades 7-12.

Demonstrate ability to relate to the students professional staff parents/guardians and members of the community
