About Position:
The Turbine System Integrator serves as the technical architect for Hydro Turbine and Valve projects. You will be responsible for the end-to-end technical execution of complex subsystems acting as the primary bridge between design Centers of Excellence (COE) project management and site execution teams. Your mandate is to ensure that diverse technical components function as a high-performance cost-optimized and reliable whole from project kick-off through final commissioning.
Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & System Ownership
- Technical Lead:Act as the single point of technical accountability for all Turbine and Valve subsystems. Propose innovative technical solutions that meet contract requirements while driving product cost-out and performance optimization.
- Design Governance:Oversee the technical integrity of all engineering deliverables including drawings calculation notes and BOMs. Ensure designs strictly adhere to Customer specifications and GE engineering rules (DP).
- Technical Optimization:Collaborate with COEs and HPM (Hydro Product Management) to identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality or delivery schedules.
- Interface Management:Define and manage technical interfaces between Turbine MIV Generator and Balance-of-Plant (BoP) packages. Ensure seamless integration with civil and electrical layouts.
Project Execution & Planning
- Lifecycle Management:Take ownership of technical milestones from project inception to site completion. Monitor and manage engineering costs and delivery schedules in alignment with project budgets.
- Cross-Functional Coordination:Lead design reviews with COEs Consulting Engineers and external partners. Resolve technical conflicts between design constraints and site reality.
- Issue Resolution:Direct technical root cause analysis (RCA) for any technical deviations or site-related Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Provide rapid corrective action to maintain project momentum.
- Stakeholder Interface:Serve as the primary technical voice for the Customer consortium partners supply chain and site teams. Translate complex technical requirements into actionable project deliverables.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Feedback Loop:Capture Lessons Learned and site feedback to improve future design standards and reliability.
Gate Reviews:Lead or participate in critical project gate reviews (PGR 47) ensuring that all technical risks are identified mitigated and reported to project leadership
Qualifications
- Education:Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience:Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the Hydro Power industry
- Domain Expertise:Deep technical knowledge of Hydro Turbine and MIV (Main Inlet Valve) systems.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in engineering design reviews document validation and interface management.
- Project Tools:Demonstrated experience managing technical work-packages budgets and project schedules.
- Communication:Exceptional verbal and written English with a proven ability to lead technical discussions in a global multicultural environment.
