Technical Leader, Blades Fleet Engineering
Job Summary
Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Provide hands-on leadership and execution support for blade-related RCAs and Major Events. Mentor individual contributors on complex engineering problems and standardized problem-solving methodologies.
RCA Process Ownership: Act as the primary owner of the RCA protocol for Blade Fleet Engineering. Ensure on-time delivery of RCA 8D-steps and adherence to Major Event Standard Work for Blade issues.
Problem-Solving & Strategy: Lead complex RCAs using structured tools (e.g. Fishbone 5Why Factor Tree). Define concise problem statements manage technical workstreams and oversee the execution of containment correction and prevention strategies.
Fleet Data & Analytics: Utilize data-driven methods to identify Emerging failure modes perform Mini RCAs and monitor fleet performance. Develop new data sources and analytical approaches to expedite resolution and minimize fleet downtime.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global teams (Materials Design Product definition Service Systems Controls Manufacturing Quality and Supply Chain) to coordinate inspections tests and resource allocation based on asset criticality and customer impact.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the technical lead for internal and customer-facing communications. Balance technical requirements with legal and commercial interests to protect GE Vernova IP and maintain customer trust.
Standardization & Continuous Improvement: Maintain high-quality documentation in tools like Quality Suite and Confluence. Conduct post-closure reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and champion process improvements to prevent recurrence.
Decision Making: Demonstrate expert judgment in evaluating design trade-offs functional requirements and technology choices to solve complex operational challenges.
Education: Masters or Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline (Mechanical Aerospace Materials etc.) with strong academic credentials.
Experience: 7 years of professional experience in Wind Turbine/Blade Engineering Manufacturing Quality Product Management or Root Cause Analysis.
Core Skills: Proven ability to break down complex problems document technical statements and estimate project efforts.
Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work in global cross-cultural teams; must be willing to work flexible hours to facilitate communication across time zones.
Communication: Strong written/verbal interpersonal and presentation skills.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to program and automate tasks; expertise in database management and statistical analysis to derive actionable inferences from large datasets.
Innovation: Demonstrated initiative in exploring alternative technologies and unconventional approaches to solve persistent technical challenges.
Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate the cost of doing nothing versus the ROI of corrective actions; understands product positioning and differentiation.
Leadership & Grit: Proven ability to lead within a matrixed environment build consensus and persist through complex setbacks to deliver results.
