Job Description

Overview:

We seek a Strategic Plant Head to lead our manufacturing facility in Chennai. This pivotal role will oversee all plant operations ensuring efficient production of superior mechanical auto components. We require a visionary leader with strong engineering and manufacturing acumen capable of driving strategic initiatives to enhance operational performance and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with corporate objectives to optimize plant performance and productivity.
• Drive initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes quality assurance and cost-efficiency.

Operational Management:

• Oversee daily plant operations including production quality control maintenance and safety.
• Implement strategies to improve production efficiency and meet manufacturing targets.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead and mentor a diverse team of managers and supervisors to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Conduct regular performance reviews provide constructive feedback and support professional development initiatives.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Implement robust quality control measures and drive continuous improvement initiatives to minimize defects and enhance product quality.

Safety & Environmental Compliance:

• Promote a culture of safety ensuring compliance with health safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Financial Management:

• Develop and manage the plant s budget to ensure cost-effective operations and alignment with financial targets.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimize resource utilization.

Infrastructure & Asset Management:

• Oversee maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of plant equipment and facilities.
• Plan and execute upgrades and improvements to support production requirements and operational efficiency.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with senior management to align plant strategies with organizational goals.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers customers and key stakeholders to enhance business outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the automotive or mechanical components industry.
• Proven track record of successfully leading plant operations driving continuous improvement and achieving operational excellence.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes quality management systems and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and other relevant plant management software.
• Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to make informed decisions and solve complex problems effectively.
