Our vision is to establish UOP IPL Engineering Skills Group as the center of excellence for execution of Modular Process Units.
The Engineering Skills Team at UOP India (IPL) has successfully engineered and executed/ managed projects for delivery of Sch A Mech engineering design for various technologies and equipment engineering associated viz in FCC Hyroprocessing Polybed PSA Units; high performance Trays (like MD/ ECMD Trays); modular Units (like CCR Recovery Plus ISOSIV Merox etc) for clients both in India and abroad.
We have an exciting opening for a Sr. Adv Mechanical Design Engineer Role within the Engineering department within UOP Process Technologies (UPT). Your role will be primarily responsible for leading the mechanical design of Reactors Regenerator and its auxiliaries.
You will apply your mechanical design expertise in reactor internals systems pressure vessels piping and specialty process equipment design to solve problems in support of the execution of engineering projects R&D new product introduction and operating unit addition drive digitization and work process improvements to solve complex problems in support of the execution of engineering projects.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Preparation of UOPs Basic Mechanical engineering design package for UOP process technologies and detail design of propriety internals for the technologies that are supported by UOP ( Sch A design)
Handling complex design problems and ability to check design coach and coordinate for the technology development
Handling and ownership of infrastructure lead the mechanical development and digitization of new tools work processes and software supporting UOP technologies and equipment.
Improve UOPs mechanical design capability by developing or enhancing technical policies procedures tools and standards.
Lead the mechanical development and commercialization of new technologies and equipment.
Support the execution of customer basic design and equipment supply projects by completing required design/analysis and specifications for pressure vessels internals and related specialty equipment.
Develop and present training for both internal and external customers
Troubleshoot complex design and field operational issues and interface with customers to drive issue resolution.
Completing FEA FFS and/or CFD analysis in support of troubleshooting or development projects.
Provide coaching and mentoring to develop others
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 12 years experience in relevant industry
WE VALUE
Experience in the design and specification of reactor systems across a broad range of UOP process technologies.
Working knowledge of relevant ASME pressure vessel and piping codes API practices and UOP standards.
Demonstrated ability to go from initial concept to design specifications/drawings and equipment requisitions for pressure vessels internals and piping components.
Working knowledge of the following with respect to pressure vessel and piping system design: elastic and plastic stress analysis heat transfer system and component design detailed design inspection testing fabrication and construction techniques.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively to prioritize and deliver on several simultaneous internal and customer projects
Self-motivation with a demonstrated ability to innovate to improve products or work processes
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems
Demonstrated ability to lead motivate develop and mentor others
Experience working with diverse global teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
