Job Summary

The CMDB Analyst will be an integral member of the IT Service Management team and play a significant role in the governance operational support and continuous improvement of configuration management processes used throughout the lifecycle of GfKs ServiceNow CMDB capability.

The analyst will work closely with colleagues across Infrastructure Information Security End User Services and Transformation teams to support configuration management policies processes and procedures ensuring these are aligned with ITIL Service Configuration Management best practices.

They will provide proactive governance and analytical support to improve the completeness accuracy and integrity of CMDB data and will produce reporting and insights for stakeholders responsible for maintaining configuration records across the IT estate.

Key Activities

  1. Support the maintenance of the governance model policy process and procedures for the CMDB ensuring agreed controls are followed and data remains accurate and reliable.
  2. Perform day-to-day analysis validation and remediation of CMDB records to improve data quality consistency and lifecycle control.
  3. Support automated Discovery and other data integrations ensuring discovered data is reviewed reconciled and correctly integrated into the CMDB.
  4. Maintain configuration item (CI) relationships in line with CSDM and support service mapping and dependency accuracy across the environment.
  5. Work closely with Change Management and technical teams to ensure CI changes are reflected in the CMDB in a timely manner.
  6. Produce regular CMDB health reports dashboards and KPI measures to monitor policy adherence data quality and process efficiency.
  7. Support audits compliance checks and exception analysis across CMDB data helping identify gaps risks and corrective actions.
  8. Stay current on ServiceNow capabilities and supporting technologies related to CMDB Discovery and CSDM and contribute ideas for service improvement and automation.

Qualifications :

  • Manage and maintain Configuration Items (Servers Applications Databases Network Devices Cloud Resources etc.).
  • Ensure CMDB data accuracy completeness and integrity.
  • Monitor and improve CMDB Health Dashboards and data quality metrics.
  • Create and maintain CI relationships and service mappings.
  • Work with application owners infrastructure teams and service owners to validate CI data.
  • Support ITIL Configuration Management processes.
  • Generate reports and dashboards related to CMDB health and compliance.
  • Drive CMDB governance standards and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Understanding of ITIL Configuration Management.
  • ServiceNow CMDB knowledge.
  • Understanding of CIs relationships and dependency mapping.
  • CMDB Health and Data Governance concepts.
  • Basic database and infrastructure knowledge (Windows Linux Network Cloud).
