Solution Specialist – IEEE Specialty Products
Job Summary
Role Overview
The Solution Specialist will lead the positioning sales and adoption of IEEEs specialty solutions
including Research Tools Experimentation Platforms and Certificationsacross academic and
government institutions.
Partnering closely with account managers this role is central to driving revenue growth by
demonstrating how IEEE solutions deliver advanced analytics actionable insights and enhanced
research workflows.
As a specialist you will:
Manage the full sales cycle: Discovery Validation Qualification and Demonstration
Showcase the value of IEEE solutions in accelerating innovation and improving researcher
productivity
Align technical expertise with commercial strategy to influence institutional decision-making
Key Responsibilities - Sales & Business Development
- Own the end-to-end sales cycle for IEEE specialty products within assigned territory/accounts.
- Identify qualify and develop new business opportunities in academic and government accounts.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline aligned with quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Lead consultative selling conversations with stakeholders.
- Develop account penetration strategies for high-value institutional customers.
Key Responsibilities - Solution Consulting & Technical Engagement
- Deliver high-impact product demonstrations technical presentations and workshops.
- Translate customer research and innovation needs into tailored IEEE solution proposals.
- Work closely with product marketing and IEEE stakeholders to position differentiated value.
- Support pilots proof-of-concepts and technical evaluations.
- Act as subject matter expert on IEEE Specialty products
Key Responsibilities - Marketing & Ecosystem Development
- Partner with marketing to execute webinars roadshows and thought leadership campaigns.
- Build relationships with academic leaders and government innovation hubs.
- Represent EBSCO and IEEE at conferences industry forums and technical events.
- Generate market intelligence and competitive insights.
Key Responsibilities - Customer Success & Account Growth
- Ensure successful onboarding and adoption of deployed solutions.
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across the IEEE portfolio.
- Maintain strong executive relationships within key accounts.
- Track usage metrics and customer outcomes to demonstrate ROI.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (Preferred).
- 5-7 years of experience in software/SaaS/technology solution sales.
- Proven track record of selling to academia telecom government or R&D segments.
- Understanding of wireless technologies (4G/5G/6G) AI/ML ecosystem or research data platforms.
(Preferred)
- Excellent presentation negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to engage both technical and business audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced in selling research or technical solutions - Exposure or understanding of to
subscription-based or SaaS business models would be beneficial.
- MBA or relevant business qualification (nice to have).
- Existing relationships within the Indian academic or government would be preferred.
