Position: Safety Supervisor

Department: EHS (Environment Health & Safety)

Job Purpose

To ensure compliance with Tata Steel Contractor Safety Management System (CSMS)

statutory safety requirements and site-specific safety procedures for maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure proper use of PPE by all employees contractors and visitors.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks (TBT) Safety Training and Safety Induction programs.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as Work at Height Hot Work Lifting Operations
• Excavation and Confined Space Entry.
• Ensure compliance with Tata Steel CSMS requirements and permit-to-work systems.
• Report and investigate accidents incidents near misses and recommend corrective

actions.

• Maintain safety records inspection reports training records and statutory documents.
• Coordinate with Tata Steel Safety Officers during audits and inspections.
• Ensure implementation of HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment) and SOPs.
• Stop any unsafe work immediately and initiate corrective measures.
• Promote safety awareness and safety culture among employees and contractors.
• Ensure emergency preparedness mock drills and availability of firefighting equipment.

Qualification

• 102 Science / Diploma in Engineering.
• Industrial Safety Certification (ADIS DIS Fire & Safety etc.).
• JNTVTI Certified Safety Supervisor (preferred Steel projects).

Experience

• 2 5 years of experience in industrial construction or steel plant safety.
• Experience in Tata Steel projects/CSMS environment preferred.

Skills Required

• Knowledge of CSMS.
• Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA).
• Incident Investigation.
• Safety Audit & Inspection.
• Safety Documentation & Reporting.
• Good communication and training skills.

• Zero Fatality / LTI.
• Compliance with CSMS requirements.
• Timely closure of safety observations.
• Completion of safety training and toolbox talks.
• Improvement in site safety performance and audit scores.
