Shift In-charge – Production

The Shift In-charge Production is responsible for overseeing end-to-end production activities during the assigned shift ensuring optimal productivity quality compliance workforce efficiency and adherence to safety standards. This role acts as a key link between shop floor operations and management driving operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

• Plan coordinate and monitor daily production activities as per schedules.
  
• Allocate tasks to operators and technicians based on skill and workload.
  
• Ensure production targets are achieved within defined timelines.
  
• Monitor machine utilization manpower efficiency and line productivity.
  
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective measures to maintain smooth workflow.
  

2. Quality Assurance

• Ensure strict adherence to product quality standards and specifications.
  
• Conduct routine inspections and in-process quality checks.
  
• Minimize defects rework and rejection rates.
  
• Collaborate with the Quality team for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  
• Maintain compliance with ISO/industry quality standards.
  

3. Team Supervision & Leadership

• Lead and supervise shop floor operators technicians and helpers.
  
• Motivate the team to achieve productivity and quality targets.
  
• Provide on-the-job training and skill enhancement support.
  
• Maintain discipline attendance and workforce engagement.
  
• Resolve team conflicts and operational issues effectively.
  

4. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict compliance with workplace safety norms and company policies.
  
• Conduct safety briefings and enforce PPE usage across the shop floor.
  
• Identify potential hazards and take preventive measures.
  
• Report and investigate accidents incidents and near-misses.
  
• Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  

5. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare and maintain shift-wise production and performance reports.
  
• Record machine downtime breakdowns and corrective actions.
  
• Track rejection rework and process deviations.
  
• Ensure proper shift handover communication with the next shift in-charge.
  
• Maintain accurate production logs and documentation.
  

Requirements

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  
• Sound knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Kaizen and 5S methodologies.
  
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  
• Ability to handle production pressure and meet deadlines.
  
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
  
• Basic knowledge of production planning and process optimization.
