SeniorLead Security Engineer AKAMAI

Were seeking a seasoned Senior/Lead Security Engineer to strengthen the clients security team. This role involves close collaboration with the wider security group focusing on web application defense and security operations.

• Set up refine and manage WAF rules and policies through Akamai
• Take part in identifying investigating and resolving security incidents tied to web application threats
• Perform assessments of WAF setups security policies and overall web application security standing
• Detect and evaluate attack patterns irregularities and vulnerabilities affecting web applications
• Offer ongoing support to the security team contributing expertise and recommended practices for web app protection

• 6-15 years of combined IT experience
• Direct experience working with Akamai products (WAF Kona Site Defender or comparable Akamai security tools)
• Solid grasp of web application security fundamentals (OWASP Top 10 DDoS mitigation bot management)
• Background in adjusting WAF rules and handling false positives
• Hands-on background responding to security incidents
• Capable of working autonomously while quickly adapting to a new team environment
• Strong English communication abilities

• Familiarity with alternative WAF/CDN solutions (Cloudflare F5 Imperva)
• Knowledge of API security practices
• Relevant security credentials (CISSP CEH GWAPT)
