Job Summary
- Lead the development of detailed design and coordination of dry utility systems such as Duct Banks for electrical telecommunication and gas networks.
- Support the design development coordination and design considerations for dry utilities including hydro gas and telecommunications within transportation and urban corridors.
- Apply subsurface utility engineering principles to evaluate utility data quality and support informed design decisions.
- Interface with multiple disciplines to resolve utility conflicts and support approvals.
- Review and guide utility design deliverables to ensure technical quality and coordination across disciplines.
- Provide technical support during construction including clarification responses as required.
- Mentor intermediate and junior staff and contribute positively to client relationships.
- Conflict analysis and resolution in 2D and 3D CAD environment.
- Ownership of QA/QC process of design deliverables.
- Support preparation of technical specifications and contract documents.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering.
- 10 years of experience in municipal and/or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to design dry utility systems including electrical design components.
- Experience with dry utility coordination and design considerations including interface with hydro gas and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong Working knowledge of CAD platforms (Civil 3D & AutoCAD) is a requirement particularly for review and coordination.
- Strong working knowledge of BIM process development of design and review process over Autodesk construction cloud (ACC) is preferred.
- Previous experience working with municipalities utility companies developers and consulting engineering firms is considered an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and time-management skills
- Familiarity with utility designs for complex projects such as airports and rail infrastructure will be an asset.
