Senior Solution Engineer
Job Summary
Job Purpose
The Senior Solution Engineer plays a key role in assessing technology solutions evaluating vendors and supporting strategic technology decision-making across the organization. Working closely with Architecture Infrastructure Security and Digital teams this role is responsible for maintaining visibility of the enterprise technology landscape managing architecture repositories and ensuring proposed solutions align with business security and architectural objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Assessment & Vendor Evaluation
- Lead the assessment and evaluation of new technologies platforms and vendor solutions.
- Conduct solution comparisons market research and technology assessments to identify risks dependencies and strategic fit.
- Support procurement and technology selection activities by providing technical recommendations and assessments.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations aligned to business and technology strategies.
Enterprise Architecture & Technology Landscape
- Create and maintain architecture artefacts across Infrastructure Network Storage Compute Cloud and Security domains.
- Develop and maintain technology landscape documentation ensuring clear visibility of enterprise systems platforms and dependencies.
- Support the development of strategic technology roadmaps and architecture presentations for leadership and key stakeholders.
Architecture Repository & Technology Inventory Management
- Maintain architecture repositories and technology catalogues.
- Ensure accurate documentation and inventory of enterprise applications software assets cloud services infrastructure platforms and technology solutions.
- Support application portfolio technology lifecycle and governance activities.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Architecture Cyber Security Infrastructure Digital and Business teams to support technology planning and decision-making.
- Communicate technical findings recommendations risks and opportunities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to architecture governance processes and technology standards.
Qualifications :
Required
- 8 years of experience in IT Technology Infrastructure Cloud Data or Business Systems environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess technologies and translate complex technical concepts into practical business recommendations.
- Broad technical knowledge across enterprise applications infrastructure cloud platforms networking and cybersecurity.
- Experience evaluating technology solutions platforms vendors and emerging technologies.
- Experience creating technical documentation architecture artefacts roadmaps and technology inventories.
- Excellent communication presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to influence technology decisions and deliver business and technology outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience with cloud platforms including Azure AWS and/or GCP.
- Exposure to enterprise technologies such as SAP MuleSoft Data Lakes and enterprise application ecosystems.
- Understanding of networking infrastructure data centre cloud and cybersecurity technologies.
- Exposure to Enterprise Architecture or Solution Architecture practices.
- TOGAF certification or experience working within architecture frameworks is desirable but not mandatory.
Planning & Decision Making
- Ability to independently plan prioritize and execute work within established timelines.
- Adhere to technology governance documentation and architecture standards.
- Conduct thorough reviews and assessments to ensure quality and desired outcomes.
Impact & Scope
- Provide technical leadership through technology assessments architectural recommendations and solution evaluations.
- Support strategic technology decisions through analysis of risks dependencies and business impacts.
- Influence technology direction across infrastructure cloud applications and security domains.
