General Summary:
The Senior Software Test Engineer II is responsible for creating and maintaining automated tests from manual test scripts and test cases. This role works in partnership with the Engineering teams to provide support on functional requirements product designs schedules and potential problems.
Mandatory skills : Hands on experience in Java API automation with karate framework or Playwright expertise and CI/CD integration OOPS and 6 months experience in cursor and copilot
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides support to the Quality Engineering teams with a high attention to detail in a disciplined agile environment
Researches analyzes and documents findings
May influence others within the Engineering team through the explanation of facts policies and practices
Tests complex API web and mobile based applications that reference database back-end systems
Creates and maintains automated test cases executes test suites reviews and diagnoses reported bugs and ensures overall system quality prior to a customer release
Designs develops maintains and troubleshoots automated suites of tests through continuous integration for value added feedback
Designs develops and maintains API automation using the Karate Framework
Derives testing requirements throughout the development cycle
Reproduces debugs and isolates problems and verifies fixes
Assists in creation of software artifacts including test plans test cases test procedures and test reports
Plans test schedules and/or strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates
Reviews software documentation to ensure technical accuracy compliance and completeness and to mitigate risks
Provides feedback and recommendations on software usability and functionality
Identifies program deviance from standards and suggests modifications to ensure compliance
Develops and specifies standards methods or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness
Conducts historical analyses of test results
Collaborates with colleagues to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions
Knowledge Skills and/or Abilities Required:
Ability to work independently on projects and processes with general supervision
Practical knowledge of applicable work area
Ability to situationally adapt and understand new technology/processes as per business requirement
Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
Familiarity with object-oriented programming language
Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Knowledge of builds and deployments
Ability to update base level classes without causing issues
Strong problem-solving skills Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to meet reasonable deadlines
Strong team player with the ability to build positive and collaborative relationships
Knowledge of programming concepts and ability to read complex manual test cases and implement new actions fragments and scripts
Hands-on experience with Karate Framework for API test automation
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent business experience
