Senior Software Engineer

Cornerstone OnDemand is seeking a Senior Full StackDeveloper with strong AI development skills to join our ServicesEngineering team. This role is suited for an experienced software engineerwho can build scalable reliable and maintainable services and applicationswhile leveraging Generative AI and modern AI technologies to addressbusiness and customer needs.
The role involves working across the full technologystack including frontend backend APIs databases cloud services and AIcapabilities. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with ProductEngineering Architecture and other stakeholders to translate requirementsinto practical production-ready solutions.

In this role you will

Full Stack Development

• Design and develop end-to-end applications and services across frontend backend APIs and databases.
• Develop scalable backend services using Java or similar technologies..
• Build user interfaces using modern frontend technologies such as React Angular or similar frameworks.
• Design and integrate REST APIs and services to support business and customer requirements.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases and develop efficient data access solutions.
• Develop reusable components and services that can support multiple solutions and use cases.
• Troubleshoot application issues and improve performance reliability and scalability.
• Participate in technical design code reviews and architectural discussions.
• AI & Generative AI Development
• Develop and integrate AI-powered capabilities into applications and services.
• Work with LLMs and Generative AI platforms such as OpenAI Azure OpenAI Gemini or similar technologies.
• Develop and optimize prompts to achieve accurate relevant and consistent results.
• Build RAG-based solutions using enterprise data documents and other sources.
• Integrate AI capabilities with APIs databases existing applications and business workflows.
• Develop AI-enabled capabilities such as content generation summarization intelligent search classification information extraction and conversational experiences.
• Evaluate AI-generated results and improve quality reliability performance and cost efficiency.
• Explore and adopt emerging AI technologies that can improve service offerings engineering productivity and customer solutions.

Services Engineering & Collaboration

• Work with stakeholders to understand business and customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop reusable services and capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple customer engagements or solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Architecture QA DevOps and other engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and contribute to solution design and estimation.
• Mentor junior developers and promote good engineering practices.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI to enhance existing services accelerate delivery and create new service capabilities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes tools and engineering practices.

Youve got what it takes if you have

• 46 years of professional software development experience with strong full-stack development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java or similar technologies..
• Experience with modern frontend technologies such as React Angular or similar.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs web services and database-driven applications.
• Hands-on experience developing or integrating AI/Generative AI solutions.
• Practical experience working with LLMs and prompt engineering.
• Good understanding of RAG embeddings and vector search.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and preferably NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Git CI/CD and modern software development practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to take ownership of solutions and work independently while collaborating effectively with the broader team.
  Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with OpenAI Azure OpenAI Gemini Claude or similar LLM platforms.
• Experience with AI agents function/tool calling or structured outputs.
• Experience with vector databases or enterprise search technologies.
• Exposure to AI evaluation monitoring and responsible AI practices.
• Experience developing reusable services APIs or SaaS solutions.
• Experience working in a services consulting or customer-focused engineering environment.
• Experience taking solutions from requirements and design through development deployment and production support.
• Role Focus
• This is primarily a Senior Full Stack Developer role withstrong AI development capabilities.
• The candidate should be a strong software engineer who canwork across the full technology stack and has the practicalability to applyAI/Generative AI technologies to real-world business and customer requirements.
  The role does not require deep expertisein AI research model training
