To add one senior / lead Generator Specialist to support High voltage design and detailed engineering of transmission distribution and offshore / onshore substation engineering activities for Energy Systems group of Ramboll Energy division Chennai
As our new Powerplants and Generators Specialist you will work alongside a dedicated team of Power Systems engineers across a broad range of projects in Denmark and abroad. Your role will primarily involve tendering and detail design of power plants including turbines generators and transformer systems across a range of power plant types and sizes including thermal powerplants.
Responsibilities & tasks
- Performing detailed engineering design of synchronous condensers and synchronous machines including excitation systems protection and auxiliary systems.
- Developing interface definitions and specifications between synchronous machines and the grid including transformers switchgear protection and control and grid compliance requirements.
- Creating tender specifications and conducting technical evaluations for synchronous condensers generators excitation systems and associated transformers.
- Analysing reactive power short-circuit contribution inertia and voltage control performance and recommending system and control improvements.
- Coordinating closely with civil electrical control and grid-connection colleagues to ensure robust machinegrid and plant-level interfaces.
- Ensuring strict compliance with applicable grid codes HSE and environmental regulations.

- HOD/Team Lead / Lead Engineer/Sr. Engineer & team
- Works with other engineers in the project team of REN EEC and DK (or other Ramboll countries) team
Works with HV Engineering counterparts in other REN offices
Qualifications :
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience with design of power plants power generating systems and synchronous condensers.
- Experience working with HV projects (between 132 150 and 400 kV systems).
- Experience with both greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Consulting experience on large-scale power projects with a strong client-facing emphasis.
- Experience with gas-fired power plants is desirable.
- Fluent English and an additional European language (advantage).
- Master/Bachelor of Electrical Engineering preferably high voltage engineering from recognized University
- Should have the experience of 15 to 20 years in High voltage design and planning activities
- Experience of at least 3 years in the consulting firm is a must.
- Experience in working on US and European projects preferred.

- Should be able to build and maintain good relationships with clients and colleagues
- Excellent in English skills oral and written is very important and a requirement
