The Senior Manager Veeva RIM Configuration Engineer is a senior hands-on configuration expert and domain-level solution lead responsible for complex configuration design configuration quality and lifecycle management of Pfizers global Veeva RIM product suite across assigned domain(s). As a core member of a SAFe Agile team delivering Veeva product releases this role partners closely with Product Management Business Owners Regulatory Operations Data Management the department Technical Lead Platform Services Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) Quality and validation partners to translate business needs into secure scalable compliant Vault RIM capabilities. The role ensures configuration solutions align with established platform architecture security compliance and release standards while driving high-quality delivery through design governance reusable configuration patterns release planning and execution change control and computerized system validation (CSV) expectations.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Vault Configuration Oversight & Solution Design
Lead and provide hands-on expertise in Vault RIM configuration across assigned domain(s) (objects page layouts lifecycles security business rules user roles and workflows) to support global regulatory business processes.
- Apply advanced SDK expertise to deliver compliant customisations integrations and scalable product enhancements that meet evolving business and regulatory needs.
- Own the end-to-end release impact assessment process for Veeva Vault RIM evaluating vendor release changes against configured capabilities integrations custom developments and regulatory business processes and coordinating required updates testing and risk mitigation activities.
- Elicit analyze and document requirements; translate into configuration specifications and traceable user stories/acceptance criteria.
- Partner with Technical Lead Platform Services and EAM to ensure solution designs are consistent with platform standards security and compliance expectations.
SAFe Delivery Release Planning & Execution
Serve on a SAFe Agile team and contribute to PI planning backlog refinement sprint execution and Veeva product release readiness activities.
Own end-to-end delivery of configuration changes from intake through build test deployment and hypercare; manage scope dependencies risks and stakeholder communications.
Coordinate and assign configuration work across the agile team (functional work allocation to meet sprint/release commitments).
Validation Quality and Compliance (CSV)
Partner with Quality and validation teams to ensure Vault RIM changes are delivered in compliance with CSV expectations (e.g. GxP as applicable) including documentation traceability and audit readiness.
Support test strategy and execution (UAT/functional/regression) and ensure defects are triaged and resolved effectively.
Integration Data and Reporting Enablement
Collaborate with integration and data teams to enable end-to-end processes across the Veeva RIM and adjacent platforms including data flows and operational reporting needs.
Contribute to troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across environments; recommend sustainable fixes.
Stakeholder Partnership Technical Guidance and Standards
Serve as a trusted advisor to Product Owners and business stakeholders; clearly communicate trade-offs and recommended solutions for complex scenarios.
Provide technical guidance and peer mentoring to configuration specialists through design reviews pairing and reusable patterns/standards; serves as a functional lead without direct people-management accountability.
Build and maintain knowledge assets (configuration standards runbooks decision logs) to improve delivery consistency compliance and supportability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or a related field with 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8 years of hands-on experience configuring supporting and leading solution delivery for Veeva Vault applications; demonstrated depth in Vault RIM is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex solution design decisions for enterprise platforms including security model objects/fields lifecycles/workflows rules environment management and design trade-offs.
- Experience managing dependencies risks release readiness and stakeholder communications across multiple teams or workstreams in a matrixed organization.
- Strong understanding of integration and data concepts relevant to Vault including REST APIs ETL patterns SSO operational reporting and collaboration with engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Experience with Agile delivery and SDLC controls including requirements traceability testing practices change management release governance CSV expectations GxP as applicable and audit readiness in a regulated environment.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders resolve competing priorities and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to define and drive standards reusable configuration patterns governance practices and continuous improvement to improve delivery consistency supportability and compliance.
- Ability to provide technical guidance coaching and peer mentoring to configuration resources while maintaining strong attention to detail and effective troubleshooting/root-cause analysis across environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting Regulatory business processes and/or working in the Life Sciences industry preferably in global regulatory operations or regulatory technology environments.
- Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and/or Scrum delivery; relevant certification such as SAFe Scrum Master Product Owner/Product Manager or related Agile certification is a plus.
- Veeva Vault certification(s) strongly preferred especially Vault Platform Vault RIM or related configuration certifications.
- Experience with multi-vault multi-region or global deployments and complex integration landscapes across regulated enterprise platforms.
