Job Summary
Job Description:
Instructors and assessors form an integral part of the Dangerous Goods Training program. The aspirant will be required to perform the following functions.
- Dangerous Goods Training
- Design and develop Dangerous Goods training material using MS-Office tools in line with the latest regulations.
- Deliver Dangerous Goods training for all categories / job functions of personnel.
- Maintain highest standards of training examination and assessment.
- Provide constructive feedback to participants.
- Cargo Training
- Design and develop basic and special cargo training material using MS-Office tools in line with company policies and procedures and global best practices.
- Deliver basic and special cargo training for Akasa Air cargo personnel.
- Administrative Tasks
- Analyse training need for dangerous goods and cargo training in view of evolving technology and regulatory environment.
- Evaluate training program effectiveness based on observed staff performance audit observations and training feedback; and plan design and implement effective interventions around that.
- Plan and execute Initial and Recurrent dangerous goods calendar for the entire organization.
- Plan and execute training calendar for initial and recurrent cargo trainings.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure that all staff are trained in accordance with their job function and that the staff trainings are planned at least 45 days in advance.
- Design develop and maintain error-free training records in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Update training department procedure manuals.
- Ensure that training rooms are blocked and instructor travel is planned well in advance. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for such activities.
- Prepare circulars update relevant dangerous goods information / chapters in other departments manuals.
- Assessments and Audits
- Carry out on-going competency assessment for personnel across departments.
- Conduct Dangerous Goods compliance audits for various departments / stations.
Qualifications:
- At least a graduate degree preferably with Physics and Chemistry at 10 2 level.
- Successful completion of DGR Category 6 training which is valid for at least 6 months.
- Preferably successfully completed DGR Instructor course from IATA.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in transport of dangerous goods by air
- Well-rounded civil aviation experience in ground handling operations including passenger and baggage handling cargo operations and ramp operations is desirable.
Other skills and attributes:
- Good MS Office skills (MS-Word MS-PowerPoint MS-Excel MS-Outlook etc.)
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and ability to communicate in Hindi
- Good analytical ability people skills and an eye for detail.
