Job Summary

Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead Shipbuilding Operations for a reputed organization in Goa. The role involves overseeing the overall functioning operational efficiency profitability business development and execution of shipbuilding and vessel repair projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in shipbuilding defence contracts project execution stakeholder management and strategic business development within the maritime sector.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Lead and oversee shipbuilding vessel construction repair and EPC project activities from planning to execution.
  • Manage production planning resource allocation quality control safety compliance and project delivery within established timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower materials and equipment to achieve operational excellence and profitability.
  • Coordinate with internal departments customers classification societies regulatory authorities and project stakeholders.
  • Handle techno-commercial activities project monitoring reporting and contract execution.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in shipbuilding defence and maritime sectors.
  • Manage enquiries and tender participation for projects from government defence and private organizations.
  • Review technical specifications prepare tender documentation estimates and commercial proposals.
  • Attend tender openings technical discussions committee meetings and provide clarifications during the bidding process.
  • Support contract negotiations project planning procurement activities and logistics coordination.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams while fostering a culture of safety quality and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with government bodies maritime authorities defence organizations industry associations and regulatory agencies on matters related to shipbuilding operations and business development.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders to support business growth and long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure timely correspondence documentation and compliance for all project and contract-related activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification : Diploma Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Shipbuilding Technology Naval Architecture Marine Engineering Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 25 years of experience in the shipbuilding ship repair maritime or defence sector.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale shipbuilding projects vessel construction and repair operations.
  • Experience in handling defence contracts government tenders and maritime business development activities.
  • Strong understanding of shipbuilding operations project management production planning and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of defence procurement procedures tendering processes and techno-commercial negotiations.
  • Excellent leadership team management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong business development and relationship management capabilities.
  • Ability to coordinate with government authorities classification societies defence organizations and industry bodies.
  • Excellent communication negotiation analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in project monitoring reporting budgeting and resource planning.
