Senior Front End Developer (UIUX)

Job Purpose

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is seeking aSenior Front-End Web Developerwith a strong passion forUI/UX design and accessibility. This role will serve as a primary contributor in building and maintainingReact-based theming solutionsand overseeing the ongoing development of ashared component libraryleveraged by hundreds of projects across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise inJavaScript HTML CSS and modern frameworks such asReact Redux and TypeScript combined with a strong understanding ofresponsive design accessibility standards (WCAG/ARIA) andfunctional programming principles. While the primary focus is on front-end development and user experience this role will also collaborate on other development initiatives. Success in this position requires creativity analytical thinking attention to detail and the ability to work independently while influencing best practices across teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of company-wide web applications and libraries.
• Lead efforts to design architect and implement new software components.
• Independently manage project activities related to builds and deployments.
• Create and maintain software tests to ensure functionality and quality.
• Develop design documentation for new software and subsequent versions.
• Identify opportunities to improve and optimize applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts or product managers to understand new requirements.
• Support and mentor developers on JavaScript/web concepts.
• Adhere to team guidelines for quality and consistency.
• Follow company software development processes and standards.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelors degree in computer science; graduate degree preferred.
• 5 years of advanced JavaScript and functional programming experience.
• 3 years of advanced CSS experience.
• 2 years of HTML5 techniques.
• Expert-level proficiency inJavaScript (ES6) HTML5 and CSS3
• Strong experience withReactand related libraries (ReduxReact Hooks)
• Proficiency inTypeScriptfor scalable and maintainable code
• Familiarity withfunctional programming principlesand component-driven development
• Deep understanding ofUI/UX best practices responsive design and design systems
• Hands-on experience implementingWCAG and ARIA accessibility standards
• Ability to collaborate with designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into high-quality interfaces
• Experience withmodern build tools(Webpack Vite Babel) andpackage managers(npm)
• Knowledge ofversion control systems(Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity withtesting frameworks(Jest React Testing Library)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
