The Advanced EV division is responsible for developing and industrialising critical electric vehicle technologies including onboard chargers DC-DC converters battery management systems and motor controllers.

As a Senior Design Validation and Test Engineer you will be responsible for planning executing and analysing component and system-level validation activities for vehicle energy management products. You will work in a highly collaborative environment with hardware software design manufacturing and quality teams to ensure robust product performance throughout development and launch phases.



Responsibilities

Validation Planning & Execution

  • Develop comprehensive component-level and system-level validation plans based on product requirements and industry standards.
  • Execute electrical functional performance EMI/EMC reliability and environmental validation testing.
  • Create detailed test procedures reports and validation documentation.
  • Analyse test results and provide clear technical recommendations.

Laboratory Testing & Equipment Management

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Power analysers
    • Digital multimeters
    • AC/DC power supplies
    • Electronic loads
    • Environmental chambers
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
  • Promote laboratory safety and compliance practices.

Product Validation & Issue Resolution

  • Validate EV power electronics products including onboard chargers battery management systems DC-DC converters and motor controllers.
  • Support root cause investigations and failure analysis activities.
  • Identify product risks and drive corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Support qualification and compliance testing activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with hardware design software systems manufacturing and quality engineering teams.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide validation-focused design feedback.
  • Support product development milestones and program deliverables.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams and suppliers when required.

Technical Leadership

  • Mentor junior engineers and laboratory technicians.
  • Drive continuous improvements in validation methods test processes and laboratory practices.
  • Support development of automated test solutions where applicable.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in design validation and testing within Automotive Electric Vehicle Power Electronics or Charging System domains.
  • Strong understanding of product validation methodologies and test development.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes power analysers multimeters power supplies electronic loads and environmental chambers.
  • Experience conducting environmental testing including:
    • Temperature testing
    • Humidity testing
    • Vibration testing
    • EMI/EMC testing
  • Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience validating EV power electronics products such as:
    • Onboard Chargers (OBC)
    • Battery Management Systems (BMS)
    • DC-DC Converters
    • Motor Controllers
  • Knowledge of automotive standards including ISO 16750 IEC UL and related validation requirements.
  • Experience with test automation tools and scripting.
  • Understanding of functional safety concepts and automotive development processes.
  • Familiarity with CAN-based communication and automotive diagnostic tools.
  • Experience supporting global vehicle programs.
