Job Description:
- The SAP S/4HANA Logistics Functional Lead is responsible for leading the logistics functional workstream during an SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA conversion programme.
- The role will focus on ensuring continuity and optimisation of core logistics and supply chain processes during the transition to S/4HANA working closely with business stakeholders system integrators and project teams.
- This is a hands-on functional role requiring strong SAP logistics module experience practical problem-solving capability and the ability to support design testing defect resolution and business readiness activities.
Key Responsibilities-Functional Logistics Leadership
- Lead the logistics functional workstream across the SAP S/4HANA conversion programme.
- Provide SAP functional expertise across logistics and supply chain processes.
- Work closely with business process owners and SMEs to support delivery activities.
- Ensure logistics requirements are understood documented and delivered.
- SAP Logistics Functional Support
Support and analyse business processes across:
- Materials Management (MM)
- Inventory Management (IM)
- Warehouse Management (WM/EWM)
- Sales & Distribution (SD)
- Production Planning (PP)
- Transportation Management (TM) where applicable
- Review existing ECC processes and identify impacts resulting from S/4HANA conversion.
- Support process alignment and functional improvements where required.
- Assist with configuration validation and functional issue resolution.
Workshops & Business Engagement
- Facilitate workshops with logistics warehouse procurement manufacturing and customer service teams.
- Gather and document business requirements and process impacts.
- Support business readiness and user engagement activities.
- Translate business requirements into functional solutions.
- Testing & Defect Management
Lead logistics testing activities including:
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Regression Testing
- Prepare and execute test scenarios covering end-to-end logistics processes.
- Support defect analysis troubleshooting retesting and resolution.
- Work with technical and integration teams to resolve issues.
Cutover & Hypercare
- Support logistics cutover planning and execution activities.
- Assist with data validation and business process verification during cutover.
- Support hypercare activities following go-live.
- Ensure critical logistics operations are stabilised post deployment.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and project teams.
- Provide regular progress updates risks and issue reporting.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and system integrators where required.
- What we need to see from you
- Strong SAP logistics functional experience.
- Proven experience supporting SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA programmes.
Hands-on experience across several logistics modules including:
- MM
- SD
- WM/EWM
- IM
- PP
- Experience supporting:
- testing
- defect management
- business workshops
- cutover
- hypercare.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain and warehouse processes.
Desirable Experience
- Previous SAP S/4HANA conversion or upgrade experience.
- Experience within manufacturing logistics warehousing retail or supply chain environments.
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori applications.
- Experience working in global or multi-site programmes.
