Position: Safety Officer

Working Days: Monday to Saturday
Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Salary: Open / As per current CTC and relevant experience with a suitable hike

Job Summary

The Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring and managing site safety activities to ensure that all construction and installation works are performed in accordance with project safety requirements applicable regulations and customer standards.

The role requires continuous field presence and close coordination with project teams subcontractors and the customer to identify potential hazards prevent unsafe practices and maintain a safe working environment throughout project execution.

Main Responsibilities

1. Conduct daily site safety inspections and monitor compliance with project safety requirements.
2. Identify unsafe acts unsafe conditions and potential hazards and ensure timely corrective actions.
3. Conduct and review Job Safety Analysis risk assessments and pre-task safety requirements.
4. Monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) activities and ensure that required safety precautions are properly implemented.
5. Conduct Toolbox Meeting and support site safety training and awareness activities.
6. Monitor high-risk activities including:
   1. Work at height
   2. Lifting and rigging operations
   3. Scaffolding activities
   4. Hot work
   5. Confined space entry
   6. Electrical work
   7. Equipment installation and material handling
7. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with approved work procedures.
8. Coordinate with supervisors and subcontractors to ensure safe execution of construction activities.
9. Stop or report unsafe work when an imminent safety risk is identified.
10. Investigate accidents incidents and near misses and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
11. Maintain safety inspection records incident reports training records and other required safety documentation.
12. Monitor subcontractor safety performance and follow up on safety violations and corrective actions.
13. Participate in customer safety meetings site inspections and safety audits.
14. Support emergency preparedness evacuation drills and emergency response activities.
15. Prepare daily weekly and monthly safety reports and statistics as required.
16. Promote compliance with project safety rules and support continuous improvement of site safety performance.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree or diploma in Safety Engineering Construction or a related field preferred.
2. Relevant experience as a Safety Officer Safety Supervisor or similar position in construction EPC industrial or manufacturing projects.
3. Good knowledge of construction-site safety practices hazard identification risk assessment and Permit-to-Work systems.
4. Familiarity with applicable Indian occupational safety regulations and construction safety requirements.
5. Knowledge of safety requirements for work at height lifting operations scaffolding hot work confined spaces and electrical activities.
6. Strong field observation and hazard-identification skills.
7. Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with workers supervisors subcontractors and customers.
8. Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for safety reporting and documentation.
10. Experience in semiconductor FAB cleanroom EPC or large-scale industrial construction projects is preferred.
