The Retail Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring the right products are available at the right store at the right time in the right quantities and at the right price. This role involves planning analyzing sales trends managing stock levels coordinating with vendors and working closely with the buying supply chain and store operations teams to maximize sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Merchandise Planning & Allocation
Develop merchandise plans based on sales trends seasonal demand and store needs.
Allocate stock to stores ensuring optimal assortment and replenishment.
Monitor stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
Product & Sales Analysis
Track and analyze sales data sell-through and inventory reports.
Recommend pricing promotions and markdown strategies to increase turnover.
Identify fast- and slow-moving items and take corrective action.
Reporting & Forecasting
Prepare weekly/monthly sales and inventory reports.
Forecast future product demand and support seasonal buying plans.
Skills & Competencies Required:
Strong analytical and numerical ability (Excel proficiency a must).
Knowledge of retail operations assortment planning and inventory management.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with problem-solving mindset.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in business Fashion Management Retail or a related field.
Min 3 years of experience in retail merchandising planning or buying (entry-level roles may allow freshers with strong aptitude).
Experience in fashion lifestyle or FMCG retail preferred.
