Job Summary
- Design deploy and maintain telecommunications networks including core transport and access layers.
- Monitor network performance conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Support the rollout and integration of new technologies such as 5G VoIP MPLS and fiber-optic networks.
- Collaborate with engineering operations and field teams to troubleshoot and resolve network outages and service degradation.
- Perform configuration testing and documentation of network devices (routers switches transmission equipment).
- Participate in capacity planning network optimization and security hardening initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards regulatory requirements and internal SLAs.
- Provide technical support during network upgrades migrations and emergency incidents.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and knowledge base documentation.
- Bachelors degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering Telecommunications Computer Science or a related field.
- 25 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications network engineering operations or related technical support.
- Strong understanding of IP networking TCP/IP MPLS BGP OSPF and QoS principles.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds Nagios PRTG) and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Familiarity with 4G/5G radio access networks (RAN) backhaul systems and fiber-optic transmission technologies.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices from vendors such as Cisco Juniper Nokia or Ericsson.
- Knowledge of network security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001 NIST).
- Excellent problem-solving skills attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work shifts on-call rotations and occasional travel to field sites as required.
