Job Summary
- Design develop and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development practices.
- Collaborate with product managers and UX designers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and intuitive user experiences.
- Optimize application performance memory usage and battery efficiency across a wide range of devices and Android versions.
- Implement and maintain robust reusable and testable code using best practices in software engineering (e.g. clean architecture dependency injection MVVM).
- Integrate third-party APIs SDKs and services while ensuring data security privacy compliance and scalability.
- Write unit integration and UI tests to ensure code reliability and reduce regression issues.
- Participate in code reviews technical design discussions and agile ceremonies (sprints stand-ups retrospectives).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs and performance bottlenecks in production environments.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging Android trends tools and frameworks to drive continuous improvement in development processes.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing through documentation and internal tech talks.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical field.
- 25 years of hands-on experience in Android application development with a strong portfolio of published apps.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Java with deep understanding of Android SDK Jetpack components (e.g. Navigation ViewModel LiveData) and Material Design guidelines.
- Experience with modern architecture patterns such as MVVM MVI or Clean Architecture.
- Familiarity with dependency management tools (e.g. Gradle) version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs JSON/XML parsing and asynchronous programming (Coroutines RxJava).
- Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit Espresso and Mockito.
- Knowledge of security best practices including secure data storage network security and OAuth integration.
- Familiarity with Firebase Google Play Console and app publishing workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile environment.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset with a passion for building exceptional user experiences.
